Symbolic Gondola Elopement in Venice

Exchange personal vows on a gondola, with Venice’s canals around you.

I’m Laure Jacquemin, a photographer based in Venice. I photograph your time on the water and help plan the timing, route and couple portraits around your gondola ride.

A personal vow exchange on the water

A symbolic gondola elopement is a personal celebration, not a legally binding marriage. You choose your words and how you would like to share them, with any legal marriage arranged separately.

The gondola can be the setting for your vows or a photographic part of a celebration held elsewhere.

Your gondola elopement photographs

Your vows, your expressions and the changing scenery along the canals form the story. I photograph these moments without asking you to repeat them, then offer simple guidance for your portraits.

Before the session, we discuss what matters to you and how photography will fit around your boat arrangements.

How the photo session unfolds

Before the ride

We agree on a meeting point and photography schedule. I help you consider the light, your departure location and any portraits you would like before boarding.

During your gondola ride

There is time for your words, your reactions and photographs together on the water. We plan the photography around the route and duration agreed with your gondolier.

Portraits back in Venice

Continue with portraits around nearby canals, bridges or the San Marco area, depending on your route. We choose the locations in advance to fit your booked photography time.

Choosing the time and route

I suggest a photography schedule based on the season, available light and your plans. The departure point, route and boat availability should be agreed before confirming the session.

A morning ride is an option, not a requirement. We choose the timing for your date rather than applying the same schedule to every couple.
