Sandy and Adrien come from different parts of the world.
She is Mexican, he is French, and they met while living in the United States, where they now live together.

During a winter trip to Venice, Sandy was six months pregnant with their first child. They wanted to preserve this moment before everything changes with a babymoon photoshoot in Venice, not as a staged session, but as a real experience shared together.

They contacted me to document this chapter of their life, in the same spirit that guides my approach to family photoshoots in Venice, where the focus is always on connection, movement, and authentic moments.

A Quiet Morning in Venice

Meeting at St Mark’s Square

We met early in the morning, around 7:30 a.m., on St Mark’s Square.
In winter, early mornings are ideal for this kind of session, especially for couples traveling and looking for calm and space.

The temperature was mild, the city was silent, and Venice felt almost suspended in time.

Under the Arcades

We started under the arcades, with St Mark’s Basilica and the empty square as a backdrop. The soft winter light reflected gently on the stone, creating a calm and intimate atmosphere.

Sandy is naturally very photogenic. Adrien, at first a little reserved, gradually relaxed as we walked and talked. Moving through the space helped him forget the camera and focus entirely on Sandy and the moment they are about to live together.

The images taken in front of the basilica reflect what I aim to capture during a family or couple photoshoot in Venice: simplicity, connection, and genuine emotion.

From the Piazzetta to the Lagoon

Walking Through Iconic Spaces

We continued toward the Piazzetta San Marco, with the Doge’s Palace and its elegant arcades in the background. Walking allows couples to interact naturally, without tension or rigid posing,

Along the Water

Under the arcades and along the edge of the lagoon, facing the San Marco Basin, the early light created a soft and almost unreal atmosphere.

These locations are among those I often suggest when couples ask about the most beautiful places for a family photoshoot in Venice, especially early in the morning.

Hidden Corners of Venice

From there, we crossed Ponte della Paglia, with the Bridge of Sighs behind them, before moving into a quieter part of the city.

We stopped on a small bridge hidden in one of Venice’s more discreet streets, places that offer privacy and calm even in the heart of the city.

These views reflect the kind of settings I often highlight in my family photoshoot locations in Venice, where atmosphere and timing shape the experience.

Ending the Session in Gondola

A Change of Pace Near The whisper bridge

For the final part of this three-hour session, timing aligned perfectly. At 9 a.m., gondolas began operating near Rialto. Sandy changed outfits, and the atmosphere naturally shifted to something more relaxed and intimate.

A Calm Moment on the Water

The gondola ride gave them time to slow down, enjoy Venice from the water, and simply be together. It is a moment many couples appreciate during a family photoshoot while traveling in Venice, especially at the end of a long morning walk. As they drifted along the Grand Canal, the gondola passed beneath Rialto Bridge, adding a quiet and iconic moment to the end of the session.

We finished the session with a few final images around Rialto before saying goodbye.

A Moment to Remember

They left Venice with more than photographs.
They left with memories of a quiet winter morning, a city without crowds, and a moment suspended in time, just before welcoming their first child.
